Like Halon 1301 it has a low toxicity level and is superpressurised with Nitrogen to 24.8bar (360psi). It rapidly extinguishes most commonly found fires through a combination of chemical and physical mechanisms.<\/p><p><strong>Novec 1230:<\/strong>\u00a0A colourless gas, virtually odourless and non-conductive. It extinguishes fire mainly through physical means and is suitable for the protection of most risks where Halon 1301 would previously have been applied.<\/p><p><strong>Inert Gas \u2013 IG55, IG541 (INERGEN\u00ae):\u00a0<\/strong>Inert Gas Fire Suppression is a general term used to identify IG55, IG541, INERGEN\u00ae, IG-100 and IG-01. Inert gases work on the principle of reducing the oxygen content within the room from the normal approximately 21% by volume to below 15%, the point at which a fire cannot be sustained.<\/p><p><strong>CO\u00b2:<\/strong>\u00a0Characterised by its rapid and efficient penetration in the area to be protected, it does not generate residue or decompose products.<\/p><p><strong>Water Mist:<\/strong>\u00a0Some systems use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/marlowefireandsecurity.com\/solutions\/fire-protection\/water-mist-systems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">water mist<\/a>\u00a0as part of the new generation of clean extinguishing agents. It is an efficient alternative to Halon systems.<\/p><p>Areas protected by fire suppression systems should be tested for air tightness when the system is commissioned because air leakage will cause the concentration of extinguishing agent to drop too quickly.<\/p><p>In the event of a fire, we perform all annual testing and maintenance with our Fipro engineering team to ensure that the
